Edward (Ted) Lewis, (15th January 1940 to 27th March 1982) born in Lincolnshire, England, changed the face of British Noir in his hard-boiled crime novels including Get Carter and two frank semi-autobiographical ones. A highly skilled graphic artist, he managed innovative animation on The Beatles, Yellow Submarine and was also a talented Jazz pianist
Ted Lewis Group are delighted to be working on a new partnership project with East Riding Museums Service. Opening in January 2018, our exhibition at the Treasure House will introduce visitors to the life and work of Lewis, with particular reference to his East Riding Connections.
