Young Edward Lewis’ first published writings were, as a pupil at Barton Grammar School in its magazine, The Bartonian in which appear three short stories, Inside Information (1954, The Legend (1955) and Double Shuffle (1956).

In 1973/4 he had published in Club Magazine, With This Song, Baby, It Don’t Matter and Men Only magazine, Kings Queens and Pawns
He wrote three scripts for the BBC TV series, Z Cars, Prisoners (1976), Juvenile (1977) and Driver (1978)
At the date of his death he was writing Other People’s Houses, retained by Josephine Lewis/Whittle but never published.
