Ted Lewis at the Treasure House, Beverley
New for 2018 is our spotlight display in the community exhibition space, Ted Lewis: Novelist, Artist and Jazz Musician.
The exhibition explores the work of Barton-born Lewis, who during his short but eventful life wrote nine successful novels. His writing career was intertwined with a substantial output as a graphic artist along with playing the ‘trad jazz’ piano, most notably with the Hull-based Unity Jazz Band.
Lewis rose to fame after his second book Jack’s Return Home was adapted as the film Get Carter which starred Michael Caine.
The exhibition runs from 2nd January 2018 until the end of February and is a partnership project with the Ted Lewis Society. The Treasure House is on Champney Road, Beverley, HU17 8HE and is open Mon, Wed and Fri 9.30 – 5pm, Tues and Thurs 9.30am – 8pm and Sat 9am – 4pm.
